SOLACOR™ UV Technology
SOLACOR™ UV protector is non-free radical generating titanium dioxide which allows stabilisation of a variety of polymer systems. Stablisation benefits have been demonstrated in polystyrene, polyethylene and poly (vinylchloride).
Polystyrene extruded with SOLACOR™ UV protector and a commercially available titanium dioxide from Competitor A. Carbonyl index (measurement of degradation) after 620 hours solar exposure.
The small amount of manganese doping minimises free radical generation, scavenges free radicals and increases UVA absorption. This significantly extends polymer lifetime under solar exposure. The effects extends to polymers incorporating anti-oxidants and HALS systems.
