Oxonica wins Award for Innovation at the Thames Valley Business Awards 2008 - 21st November 2008

« back Oxonica plc ("Oxonica"), a leading international nanomaterials group, today announces that it has won the prestigious award for Innovation at the Thames Valley Business Awards held at the Berkshire Conference Centre in Reading.

The Award for Innovation recognises businesses with 'great ideas, products, initiatives, working practices and routes to market'. Oxonica has demonstrated this in the development and commercialisation of Envirox™ fuel efficiency additive. Since 2000, Oxonica has been engaged in development both in the laboratory and in the field to create Envirox™, a product proven to reduce diesel fuel consumption and reduce emissions from applications powered by diesel engines.

The product is now successfully established in the market. Its major UK customer is Stagecoach Buses who are using Envirox™ in almost all of their 7000 strong UK bus fleet. The rise in oil prices and enhanced environmental pressures are making Envirox™ an increasingly attractive product for all types of significant diesel fuel users. As a result of this there has been a considerable increase in interest in Envirox™ and Oxonica now has a stronger pipeline of potential UK customers than any other time in its history.

Kevin Matthews, CEO Oxonica commented "Oxonica is delighted to have won the Business Award for Innovation, this is a credit to all our employees who have worked hard to develop this product and win new business".

This year's awards were presented by former Foreign Secretary, and now Housing Minister, the Rt Hon Margaret Beckett MP.
