Sr. Engineer/Engineering Manager

Location: Mountain View, CA, USA

Brief Job Description: The candidate will be the hands on technical manager for Oxonica's Nanoplex Biotag instrument products developed with outside partners. In this role the candidate will not only design and specify the new instrument and components but also manage its realization with outside partners. Once system specifications are set, the candidate will be responsible for the coordination of outside instrument component OEMs so that their development programs meet budget and specifications. The candidate will manage outside design and manufacturing resources to complete product release. The candidate will lead efforts to generate and maintain systems definition and documentation and work with cross-functional teams to oversee the integration of systems components. Finally the candidate will be responsible for systems level engineering verification efforts.

Knowledge and Skills Required: BS + 10 years experience or MS/PhD + 5 years experience in Engineering or Physical Sciences. Must have managed or played lead technical role on optical instrument system design and integration project leading to a released product. Experience to include a deep expertise in one or more of the following: optical design, mechanical design, motion control, system design, software specification and test, imbedded hardware design. Product development for the life sciences industry or FDA medical device product development preferred.

Process Development Associate

Location: Mountain View, CA, USA

Brief Job Description: The successful candidate will perform and document daily manufacturing operations according to standard operating procedures and work instructions. Daily work will include synthesis of colloidal gold particles and manufacturing of SERS nanotags. The individual will perform particles characterization measurements and collect characterization data. The successful candidate should be familiar with general chemistry laboratory environment following strictly basic safety and hazardous principles. The candidate will be further involved in continuous process development, process optimization and implementation of SOPs-modifications as well as bio-funtionalization of nanoparticles. Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. General computer skills such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint are required. Hands-on experience with chemical synthesis and chemical characterization methods such as UV-vis spectroscopy are a plus. The candidate must be responsible, self-motivated, and dependable.

Knowledge and Skills Required: BS in Chemistry or Biochemistry with minimum of 2 years of relevant industrial experience.

Senior Scientist: Surface and Conjugation Chemist

Location:  Mountain View, CA, USA

Brief Description: Successful candidate will develop novel methods of surface chemical modifications, methods for conjugation of biomolecules to nanoparticles, development of QC procedures, successfully technology transfer developed processes to the manufacturing and process development teams, and assist in scale-up tasks. 

Knowledge & Skills Required: Successful candidate should have a PhD and 3+ years of relevant industrial experience in the areas of biochemistry, surface chemistry, conjugation chemistry and/or bioassay uses of nanoparticles, including a proven track record through publication, patents or product launch.  Candidate must be able to work in a cross-functional team, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be professional in interactions with customers and respectful of co-workers.
